Lea is looking forward to the "Irish adventure"

Trainee does an internship abroad on the island

Lea Volkstorf is on her way to Ireland, where she will complete an internship abroad including a language course. The commercial trainee at SCHLEGEL is taking part in an exchange programme. She will spend 4 weeks getting to know the country and its people, the language and working in a hotel. The programme starts on Sunday, 22 October.

Ryanair flight FR2413 will take her from Memmingen to Dublin on Sunday morning. Three other trainees from the vocational school in Biberach are on board, two of them from her class. She is embarking on an adventure abroad with them as part of the Erasmus programme, which is funded by the EU and the German government. The stay is organised by the vocational school in Biberach.

In the centre of Ireland
Her destination is Athlone, a town located pretty much in the centre of Ireland - between Dublin and Galway. There she will complete a language course and work in a hotel for 3 weeks. She will be staying with a host family. By living with a family, she will automatically get to know everyday life in Ireland — and perhaps also learn the language "on the side". Because that is one of her goals during her stay — to improve her English.

Lea is looking forward to this four-week adventure in Ireland. She wants to take in as much as possible during these four weeks. She wants to get to know the country, the culture and - through her internship - working life on the island. She wants to have lots of new experiences and have fun - that's what she has planned for the four weeks.

She is grateful that she has been given the opportunity to take part in this Erasmus exchange programme. She is not the first trainee from our company to take part in this exchange. Ellen Lipowski completed an internship abroad in Athlone around 1.5 years ago.
