1,000 Euro donation for the senior citizens' cooperative

Company doubles raffle proceeds for a good cause

The Riedlingen Senior Citizens' Cooperative has received a 1,000 € donation from GEORG SCHLEGEL. The company has more than doubled the proceeds from the Christmas raffle, which will now benefit senior citizens in the region.

The raffle is an integral part of the SCHLEGEL Christmas party every year. Employees can win attractive prizes provided by the company. At the same time, selling raffle tickets serves a good cause. This year, it resulted in a sum of 456 €. The company increased the amount to 1,000 €.

The trainees decide on the purpose of donation

The trainees were responsible for organising the raffle. They also chose the Riedlingen Senior Citizens' Cooperative as the recipient of the donation. At the handover, its managing director, Michael Wissussek, expressed his gratitude and appreciation, noting that it is not common for young people to consider the older generation.

The SCHLEGEL management was also impressed by the choice. “I was impressed that you thought of the elderly,” said senior managing director Eberhard Schlegel. Christoph Schlegel and Wolfgang Weber also emphasised the company's regional ties, stating that they specifically want to strengthen local projects.

The Senior Citizens' Cooperative supports elder people in many ways. It runs three daycare facilities in Riedlingen and Bad Buchau, provides transport services and home care, and offers “first aid in the household“, as stated by themselves.

The donation will benefit senior citizens directly. This year marks two anniversaries: 20 years of dementia care in Riedlingen and 10 years of “Haus mit Herz“ in Bad Buchau. A large celebration is planned for those in their care. The donation will be put towards this.

Georg Schlegel GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer of control devices for machines and systems, has been involved in social projects for many years.
