A Celebrity Intern at the SCHLEGEL Summer Party

Around 150 colleagues enjoy the evening together

Once again, we had a wonderful summer party: a warm summer evening, delicious food, plenty of laughter, and great conversations. And this year came with a surprise - a celebrity intern manning the gyros pan.

Opening Address

In his short speech, Managing Director Christoph Schlegel drew a parallel to Spain's World Cup-winning football team: success isn't built by individual players, but by a team that works together — an idea that applies perfectly to SCHLEGEL, where different departments work hand in hand.

Other topics: order intake and revenue are both up on last year. He also spoke about the reasons behind the planned new building: the company is facing a shortage of space. The goal is to become even more efficient and faster with more room and more modern infrastructure. "The new building is a commitment to this location," said Schlegel. He also stressed that these investments are not about cutting jobs. On the contrary — "it's about supporting your knowledge and your work even better."

Togetherness

After the official words, though, one thing took center stage: togetherness. Over gyros, fresh salad, and Dinnete (a South German flatbread), colleagues came together for conversation and laughter. Simply put, it was an evening that did everyone good.

A Special Intern

It was a genuine surprise. State Secretary Thomas Dörflinger pitched in as an "intern" at the Geiger butcher's stand, working the pan and serving up the gyros himself. Not many people can say they were handed their gyros by a state secretary at the summer party.

Thanks went to everyone who helped make the event a success: the organizers, the Geiger butcher's shop from Dürmentingen, the Reck company from Waldhausen for the Dinnete, the Alpenheld coffee van with cocktails, and the ice cream van from "Boutique del Gelato da Giana" in Inzigkofen. A special thank-you went to the Bad Buchau fire department for once again hosting the summer party.
