Getting creative with spray cans

Graffiti workshop as part of the summer holiday programme!

How do you spray cool graffiti? That's what 29 kids and teens learned at our graffiti workshop, which was part of the summer holiday programme. The workshop took place in a former workshop hall, which was transformed into a colourful creative space for the day.

Learning from the pros!

Four weeks ago, the professionals sprayed their pictures on the outside walls, and now the young artists are learning how to spray indoors under the guidance of two artists.

Fourteen young artists took part in the morning session and 15 in the afternoon, all aged between 8 and 15. They came from all over the region. They tried out tips, tricks and small effects straight away. Using stencils, they created exciting backgrounds onto which they then sprayed individual motifs.

After completing the initial exercises on cardboard, the participants were permitted to transfer their work onto a canvas, creating a unique piece of art to take home. The results included colourful flowers, hearts, shadow figures, flames, faces, footballers and even galaxies.

Great enthusiasm despite the summer heat

Everyone sprayed with great enthusiasm for the full 2.5 hours – even the paper rolls on the tables were used as canvases by the end. The feedback was clear: 'That was fun!' and 'That was cool!' – even in the summer temperatures.
